NOTE: Prior to becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 10 March 1998, I told the missionaries that were teaching me at that time that I would not be baptized until after I had read all of the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price. Up to this point I had already read the Bible in its entirety 6 times so I felt well versed in the teachings thereof. I was lead by the Holy Spirit to develop this 40-day reading schedule and prayerfully finished the reading of all three Standard Works shortly thereafter. The schedule as presented here was made for March - April 1998. The original schedule was created to cover January - February 1998.

** If a person is a diligent reader and student of the Scriptures, he should be able to complete the Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price in a 40 day time period. The schedule that is used includes the following daily reading amounts: (1) Book of Mormon -- 6 chapters, Doctrine & Covenants -- 4 sections, and the
Pearl of Great Price -- 3 chapters per week (to be read on Sunday).
** Depending on where in a particular month that a 40 -day reading period ends, the remainder of that month is to be used for various Scripture studies. The 40 -day reading cycle commences with the start of the following month. For example, the cycle above ends on 9 April. Thus, there are three (3) weeks left in the month for various Scripture studies and the reading cycle begins again on 01 May.
